Paul B. Evans Named Executive Director of the Mental Health Association in Greensboro

Paul B. Evans has been named the executive director of the Mental Health Association in Greensboro, effective February 1, 2010. Evans has served as the interim executive director of the Association since July 2009.

Evans, who brings extensive mental health management and program experience to the position, served for 23 years with Guilford County Mental Health, most recently as provider service director for the Guilford Center. As such, he was responsible for all clinical services offered by the Guilford Center. His position was eliminated as part of the state-mandated divestiture of services by local mental health authorities.

“Paul Evans brings an exceptional background in operational management, program evaluation, quality initiatives, and long-range planning to our Association,” according to Monshaire Fikes, 2009-2010 Mental Health Association Board president. “We are delighted to have his expertise and vast experience.”

Evans has received numerous Association of County Commissioners national awards for innovative programs and has been honored for his work with persons with mental illness and developmental disabilities by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) and the ARC (formerly the Association of Retarded Citizens). A graduate of the University of Central Florida, he recently served as the recovery services administrator for Recovery Innovations of North Carolina.

Paul Evans can be reached at (336)373.1402 ext. 205, or by email at pevans@mhag.org.
