The Wellness Academy Golf Classic is back again!  Please join us as we hold the 3rd annual event at the Bryan Park Player’s Course to benefit the Mental Health Association in Greensboro (MHAG).  The goals are simple – educate, advocate, and support.  Please consider participating to help us sustain and grow the many free recovery services that MHAG offers the community.  Join us in celebrating Hope and Wellness.

Interested in a sponsorship?

A sponsorship provides additional funding for the programs and services at MHAG.  It also promotes your organization as a generous partner in supporting local nonprofit organizations like MHAG.  It is a wonderful way to encourage your employees to be a part of a fun event and provide positive community leadership.   There are options to sponsor AND play in the tournament!

Online sponsor sign up is not available; to become a sponsor, please submit your registration using options 2 or 3 above.

MHAG is a grant and donor-funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We rely on the support of individuals and organizations in our community to continue providing education and recovery support services to our peers in the community, and to keep most of our programs free to the public. Your support allows us to offer recovery support services to those in recovery with a mental health diagnosis, which includes support groups, one-on-one peer support with certified Peer Support Specialists, and recovery skills classes through the Wellness Academy.

How your participation helps:

$100 Player Fee
Six participants can attend a QPR Suicide Prevention Training.
$360 Foursome
A peer support specialist can spend 30 hours one-on-one with individuals seeking peer support as part of their recovery program.
$500 Sponsorship
Nine community members (including community professionals and first responders) can attend the 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Program.
$1,250 Sponsorship
Provide 50 hygiene and gift bags for patients at Moses Cone Behavioral Health for the Hands of Hope Program during the Holiday Season.
$2,500 Sponsorship
Funds the development and provision of 3 new recovery skills classes.
$4,000 Sponsorship
A peer support specialist can work one-on-one with 20 peers during a six month period and facilitate support groups.

The Wellness Academy

The Wellness Academy is a free mental health recovery program that educates peers about maintaining wellness, coping with stress, and managing symptoms. The core classes are evidenced-based or developed from SAMHSA principles, and include:

  • Anger Management
  • Introduction to Wellness and Recovery Concepts
  • Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
  • Wellness Management and Recovery
  • Recovery Principles

Other MHAG Programs

MHAG offers supportive programs for individuals in recovery with a mental health diagnosis, as well as public mental health education programs for healthcare providers, students, employers and employees, and members of the general public. Most of these programs are free of charge and include:
