Supporting our community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic is allowing Mental Health Greensboro to get creative in it’s approach to peer support.
We are happy to announce the addition of private Facebook Peer Support Groups to help keep our traditional support groups active during this time when our office must be closed as well as when normalcy returns to every day life.
Our online peer support groups are moderated by our peer support specialists. We encourage our peers to join our online support groups, post relevant topics to the group, participate in discussions, and support one another in these unprecedented times.
In addition to our regular support groups: Renewal, Road to Recovery, Family & Friends, and Women’s Emotional Wellness, we are including a Grief & Loss online peer support group, an Anger Management group, as well as a general support group available for anyone needing peers support during this time.
In order to join our online peer support groups you must have a Facebook account. After you are logged into your Facebook account, simply click the picture of the peer support group you would like to join below. We welcome you to a new way of maintaining an open line of communication and support and encourage you to join in participation. We can still have social connections during this time when social isolation is the trending norm.
