The holidays are a difficult time for many people. Some grieve the loss of loved ones. Some stress over the business of the season. Anxiety or anger come with the thought of dealing with families and unrealistic expectations. Whatever the reason, this time of year triggers difficult emotions. It’s not just the season to be jolly. It’s the season for the blues.
2020 has been an especially difficult year and Mental Health Greensboro is again offering our Hope For the Holidays series of workshops that address the reasons the holidays are hard. Learn strategies to cope with the season’s blues, and make the holidays a hopeful time again.
The holiday workshop series offers SIX free classes both online and in-person. Our Thanksgiving & Christmas WRAP classes will help peers develop a wellness recovery action plan address specific holiday triggers and needs. Attitude of Gratitude, addresses remaining grateful under stress. Understanding the Holiday Blues, examines the season’s depression triggers and offers strategies to battle them. So You Wanna Make A Resolution? will help to create a resolution success plan, because, YES YOU CAN! Our Holiday Workshop series will wrap up with an in-office movie and cookie celebration which we have dubbed Cookies at the North Pole.
Our holiday workshops are free and open to anyone who cares to learn how to make this holiday season as bright as it can possibly be. Please register for either our online or in-person workshops and prepare for happier holidays ahead!
