DUE TO COVID-19, PROVIDER ACADEMY WILL TAKE PLACE ONLINE FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE YEAR.  PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SPACE BY INCLUDING YOUR NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, AND PHONE NUMBER IN THE BOOKING BOX BELOW.  MENTAL HEALTH GREENSBORO WILL SEND INFORMATION ON HOW TO JOIN THE WORKSHOP VIA ZOOM.  IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE EMAIL US AT INFO@MHAG.ORG.

It is well known that individuals with mental health challenges are more likely to be the victims of violence than to commit violence, and are more likely to encounter the police than receive treatment.  As a result, 2 million people with mental illness are booked into jails each year.  Nearly 15% of men and 30% of women booked into jails have a serious mental health condition (Jailing People with Mental Illness).  In this workshop you’ll be looking at how mental health issues are treated in the criminal justice system, and discuss legal proceedings and scenarios.
